Help Center

Step-by-step answers for accounts, routes, Maps navigation, drivers, billing, and common fixes — based on how RouterMe actually works.

Getting Started

Create your account and get oriented in RouterMe.

RouterMe uses Clerk for secure sign-in (email or supported social providers). You do not set a separate RouterMe-only password on our servers.

  1. Open Pricing and choose Get Started / Continue free, or use Sign in in the header.
  2. Complete Clerk signup or login.
  3. After authentication you’ll land in the app — typically Active Routes.

New accounts receive a 30-day free trial so you can explore before subscribing.

The Free plan is $0 for 30 days and does not require a card to start. You can plan and view delivery routes, use basic route optimization (within Free limits), and use your address book and delivery history.

Team seats and priority support are not included on Free. When you need unlimited optimizations or team features, upgrade on Pricing.

Most day-to-day work happens in these places:

  1. Active Routes — today’s routes, start stops, mark delivered.
  2. Addresses — saved stops and imports.
  3. Maps — navigate from your location with turn-by-turn guidance.
  4. Proof of Delivery — signatures and photo evidence.

Open Addresses. You can add stops one at a time, or use import where available (for example CSV) so many locations are geocoded into map coordinates.

Use the full street address with city and postcode for best results. If a pin looks wrong, edit the address and adjust the location before building routes.

Yes for navigation and live GPS trail recording. When the browser asks for location, choose Allow. Maps uses a single high-accuracy location watch while you navigate; Active Routes and Maps can post GPS pings for your route trail.

If you previously blocked permission, open your browser/site settings for RouterMe and re-enable location, then reload Maps.

Route Planning

Build efficient multi-stop days and manage them on Active Routes.

From the app, create a new route for your delivery date, then add stops from your address book or by searching addresses. Assign a vehicle/driver when your plan includes fleet features.

Once stops are in place, run optimization so RouterMe orders them for a shorter, more efficient path. The route then appears under Active Routes for the day.

Optimization evaluates your stop set and produces an efficient order based on distance and road network data (and traffic-aware routing where enabled). Paid plans unlock broader unlimited optimization usage versus Free trial limits.

After optimizing, always glance at the map and stop list — you can still manually adjust order when a customer has a hard time window.

Yes. After an optimized route is created, reorder stops in the route UI (drag-and-drop where available). Distances and ETAs refresh based on the new sequence.

Use this for priority customers, restricted streets, or depot return rules that the optimizer shouldn’t override.

On Active Routes, open the route and use Start on a delivery point when you begin that stop, then Mark delivered when complete. The app records timing and remaining stops.

From Maps navigation, when you arrive near a stop you can also mark delivered from the arrival sheet and continue to the next undelivered stop.

Active Routes is your operational list: which routes are in progress, stop status, and delivery actions.

Maps is the navigation surface: select a route or stop, start navigation from your current GPS position, follow turn banners and the coral path, and use Re-centre / fullscreen while driving.

Maps & Navigation

Drive with turn-by-turn guidance on the Maps page.

  1. Open Maps and select an active route (or a specific stop).
  2. Allow location access if prompted.
  3. Tap Start Navigation. RouterMe builds a driving route from your current position through remaining undelivered stops.

The map switches to a dark nav style with a coral route line, turn banner, ETA bar, and voice prompts (toggleable).

If you stay off the route by roughly 75+ metres for about 8 seconds, Maps auto-reroutes (with a short cooldown) using remaining undelivered stops. You’ll see a brief “Rerouting…” status.

The path behind you appears muted; the remaining path stays coral (and may tint for traffic congestion when Mapbox returns annotations).

When you are within about 40 metres of the current stop (or the final arrive step), Maps shows an arrival sheet:

  1. Mark delivered — updates the stop via the same deliver API as Active Routes.
  2. Navigate to next stop — rebuilds the from-here route for remaining stops.
  3. Exit navigation — ends nav and can show a short trip summary.

On the last stop you may also see a link to Proof of Delivery.

While navigating, the camera follows your heading. If you pan or zoom manually, follow pauses and Re-centre appears — tap it to resume follow.

Use the fullscreen control to expand the map container (with a fixed-position fallback on browsers that limit the Fullscreen API, such as some iOS Safari versions).

Yes. While a route is in progress and location is allowed, RouterMe posts periodic GPS pings for that route. You can review the trail later on the route detail / history map views when pings exist.

Pings are throttled (time and distance) so the trail stays useful without flooding the network.

Drivers & Proof of Delivery

Capture handoffs and share live progress with customers.

Open Proof of Delivery to capture on-device signatures, photos, and notes tied to a stop. Keep this for customer disputes, audits, and dispatcher review.

Complete POD when the parcel is handed over or left in a safe place according to your company policy, then mark the stop delivered on Active Routes or Maps.

Yes. RouterMe supports shareable public tracking links for a route. Recipients open the link to see live position and progress on an auto-refreshing map — no account required.

Create or manage tracking from the tracking tools in the app (Tracking). Prefer links with expiry when sharing outside your organization.

On Independent Plus (team features), set up vehicle/driver profiles and assign routes so the right person sees the right day. Depot and capacity settings help multi-vehicle planning.

Solo Independent users typically run Routes and Maps themselves without team seats.

  1. Open the day’s route on Active Routes or Maps.
  2. Start navigation and follow turn prompts.
  3. At each stop: complete delivery, capture POD if required, mark delivered.
  4. Continue to the next stop until the route is finished.

Keep the screen awake during nav when the browser supports wake lock; watch for the “Weak GPS” chip if accuracy is poor.

Troubleshooting

Fix the issues drivers hit most often.

If location was denied, navigation and GPS trails cannot run. Re-enable location for the RouterMe site in browser settings, reload, and allow when prompted.

A Weak GPS chip during nav means accuracy is worse than ~50 m (indoors, tunnels, dense urban canyons). Move outdoors or wait for a better fix; the path may snap once accuracy recovers.

Enter the complete address (street, suburb/city, postcode, country). Avoid ambiguous place names alone.

Edit the address and reposition the map pin if geocoding lands on the wrong parcel. Re-run optimization after fixing coordinates so the route uses the corrected stop.

Maps need a network connection for Mapbox tiles and directions. Check you’re online, disable aggressive content blockers for the site, and hard-refresh.

If your organization hosts RouterMe and the map token isn’t configured, you’ll see a “Mapbox token not configured” message — contact your admin or support.

Sign-in is handled by Clerk. Use the same email/provider you registered with. Use Clerk’s “forgot password” / magic-link flows on the login screen when offered — there is no separate RouterMe password reset page.

Clear site cookies for RouterMe if sessions look stuck, try a private window, or another browser. Still blocked? Contact us with the email you use to sign in.

When Maps switches between day and dark nav styles, layers are redrawn. If the coral line is missing briefly, wait a moment or tap Re-centre. Exit and Start Navigation again if needed.

Confirm you still have a selected route with valid stop coordinates and an active network for Directions.

Make sure you are signed in before tapping Subscribe. Allow pop-ups/redirects to Stripe. If Stripe returns an error, verify card details and try again.

Persistent failures may mean billing isn’t configured for that environment — contact support with the approximate time of the attempt.
